Bible Week Plus 2015 Intro

Weston Bible Week Plus 2015Bible Week Plus 2015 welcomes Dr Stephen Holmes whose theme will be Truth and Love: Responding well to Questions of Human Sexuality.  Stephen will help us to address the questions of personal identity, culture and Biblical interpretation.

Stephen is the senior lecturer in Theology at St Andrews University and his approach promises to be both relevant and Biblically based.

Wednesday: Taking the Bible appropriately seriously
Thursday: Taking our culture appropriately seriously
Friday: Taking people appropriately seriously

You are encouraged to come and see what God might be saying to our generation of Christians on an issue which simply won’t go away.

Bible Week Plus takes place on Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th and Friday 6th March 2015, 7,30pm - at Milton Baptist Church, Weston-super-Mare.

Launching Bible Week 2014

Eating your way through Luke

Bible Week 2014 takes place on Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th September at Milton Baptist Church, Weston-super-Mare.

We look forward to welcoming Rev Dr Ian Stackhouse to Weston where his teaching theme will be 'Eating your way through Luke'.

Ian is a well known and respected Pastor, author and Bible-teacher and is based at Guildford Baptist Church.

Join us for worship and to hear Ian's inspiring and lively teaching around the book of Luke, commencing 7.30pm each night.  Entry is free, a collection will be taken each night towards costs.

Bible Week Plus - Friday March 21st 2014

George Carey - We dont do GodBible Week are delighted to be welcoming Rev George Carey (Baron Carey of Clifton) who will present on the theme ‘We don’t do God’.

Background on George Carey: He is a genuine East Ender, having been educated at local primary and secondary modern schools. He was the first archbishop for a long time who was not from either Oxford or Cambridge Universities.


Bible Week 2013 - Dr Paula Gooder

Dr Paula GooderWe are pleased to be welcoming Dr Paula Gooder to Weston Bible Week 2013.

Dr Gooder is a highly respected writer and lecturer in Biblical studies with a light and 'easy to listen to' style of teaching. She is Canon Theologian of Birmingham and Guildford Cathedrals, Lay Canon at Salisbury Cathedral, Visiting lecturer at King's College, London, Associate lecturer at St Mellitus College, London, and has been Bible Society's Theological Advisor since 2010. She has recently been appointed a Vice-President of Bible Society.

Her theme will be: 'Pie in the Sky' - Looking at heaven from a Biblical perspective.

Dr Gooder said " I think we need to treat the Bible a little bit more like an adventure, so we get into it and say 'where is the Bible going to take us today?'

Messy Church

Messy Church - 'Fresh ideas for building a Christ-centred Community' will be presented by Lucy Moore - a Messy Church Team Leader at Bible Week PLUS 2013.

Lucy Moore is a professional actor and storyteller. Based in the south of England, she is an experienced speaker, workshop leader and performer and has produced numerous books and multimedia resources on Messy Church and All-Age Worship.

On Friday 15th March at 7.30pm, Lucy will do a Presentation and Q&A Discussion. Entry is free - A collection will be taken.

Saturday 16th March from 10.00am to 12.30pm, Lucy will run a Hands-On Workshop Presentation.


Weston Bible Week 2012

Weston Bible Week's theme this September is 'A wideness of God's mercy' - a study in the Book of Jonah. Dr. Nigel Wright BA BD Mth PhD FRSA is an internationally recognised Bible Teacher.

He is an academic with a sense of humour and it is a great privilege to attract a scholar/ teacher of his distinction here to Weston to share with us on three evenings at the Weston Bible Week. Dr Wright is the author of 20 books - the most recent being Jesus, Alpha and Omega. He is the Principal of Spurgeons College, training the next generation of Preacher/Pastors for this country's and overseas churches.
